Decentralized Science (DeSci) efforts have become a trend in the scientific community and are developing at a rate that even major pharmaceutical firms cannot ignore. In reality, Pfizer is now the first pharmaceutical corporation to vote on decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) recommendations made by the German blockchain-based group VitaDAO.
The partnership is a part of VitaDAO‘s most recent fundraising effort, which was launched in late January with support from key insiders such as Pfizer Ventures, Shine Capital, and L1 Digital, in addition to others who advocate for longevity. The $4.1 million raised will be used to support initiatives related to longevity research and hasten the establishment of VitaDAO‘s first biotech businesses, with plans to launch two more by 2023.
Pharmaceutical Company DeSci’s Startups Stimulate Ecosystem Growth
DeSci‘s initiatives, which range from decentralized biotech foundations to finance vehicles, have encouraged the growth of a healthy ecosystem. Dr. Tuan Cao, the creator of GenomicDAO, a San Francisco-based platform established on February 19 by biotechnology business Genetica, said: “Some of the main developments in the sector may include research and investment platforms, crowdsourcing for scientific research, scientists and research communities.”
This decentralized platform attempts to create a community to steer and manage precision medicine efforts with an emphasis on Asia. Stroke prevention is a priority for its first subsidiary DAO, which focuses on education and ischemic stroke R&D.
GenomicDAO States that the Production Speeds might be Improved via AI
One of the leading causes of vascular impairment and mortality worldwide is stroke. According to the American Heart Association, there were over 77 million ischemic strokes globally in 2019. According to research that was published in the Journal of Clinical Hypertension in 2021, stroke incidence is greater in Asian communities than it is in western cultures.
According to GenomicDAO, a new product introduction may be sped up from 12 to 18 months to 4 to 6 months by integrating artificial intelligence with a network of scientific and medical professionals. GenomicDAO asserts that community-based efforts are transforming scientific inquiry.
